Office Mix Preview end of service

Users who are are using Office Mix to create and share interactive online videos based on PowerPoint presentations, got an email last week that Microsoft is retiring the service on May 1, 2018. If you are one of the affected users, please continue with this article. Microsoft will bring the best features of Office Mix directly into PowerPoint, Microsoft Stream, and Microsoft Forms for Office 365 subscribers on Windows PCs without any additional add-in. As the service becomes obsolete, this also means that Microsoft will delete every Office Mix content from their server. In order to avoid losing your data saved into Office Mix workspace, you need to migrate them to Microsoft Stream, or download it into your OneDrive workspace. Everything you need to know about the migration, and the future of these features, are collected into this MS help article: https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Migrate-your-content-from-Office-Mix-c1c04f84-a7bb-4602-9645-258017155258?ui=en-US&rs=en-U...

Visio with SharePoint / Office 365

As you know that the SharePoint is most popular content Management System, it supports office web apps (All MS Office file types) except Visio files. For Visio files, MS has introduced Visio Web Access web part to show the Visio file to a SharePoint page and this works fantastic. Visio Online  Microsoft has now onboard Visio Online as a part of Office Web Apps (All Office 365 users can test in their environment as this in free of cost with their license) Now It’s time to upgrade your existing solution of Visio file in SharePoint web part to Visio online and it also improve the performance of page load that has vision diagram. SharePoint Server 2016: New feature - Zero downtime patching

Introduction One of the big news with the arrival of SharePoint Server 2016 was the ability to patch your machines without any end-user side disturbance. Many of us - including myself - had understood that the new topology design called "MinRole" was necessary and a prerequisite to use ZDP.  NO! To my surprise I have seen a section - a superb article elsewhere - on how to patch the SharePoint farm without any break. Let me explain… With SharePoint Server 2013 Downtime is caused during patching SharePoint Server binary during installation and during execution of the Product Configuration Wizard. During the IIS Server process is ground and / or recycles and hotfix installation can take hours - and I mean 5H, by the time - because each installation of an MSP recycle the SharePoint services and is for this reason exactly why the SharePoint patching is super painful. Russ Maxwell explains everything in detail here: https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/russmax/2013/04/01/...
